What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Gateway Community Church  based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

That God, being one, exists eternally in three persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ, the mediator between God and man, is God’s only eternal Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary.
Luke 1:26-38, John 1:1-14
Jesus Christ’s substitutionary death for our sins made our reconciliation to God possible.
2 Corinthians 5:17-19
Jesus arose from the dead and ascended into heaven where He intercedes for His people.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

God has sent the Holy Spirit to transform and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ.
 1 John 4:13

The Scripture is the only inspired Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16

That every person has worth as a creation of God even though all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Genesis 1:27  Romans 3:23
The forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are given to those who trust Christ as Savior and accept Him as Lord.
John 3:16
Those accepting Christ as Lord and Savior should repent of their sin, confess their faith and be baptized in obedience to His commands.

Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
